AN ACT CONCERNING THE WAITING WEEK AND UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require individuals to be unemployed for a full week prior to becoming eligible to receive unemployment benefits.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage individuals to immediately begin their search for work and to lessen the burden on the Labor Department in situations where individuals are unemployed for short periods.
