AN ACT CONCERNING THE INCLUSION OF THE STUDY OF THE FOUNDING DOCUMENTS OF THE UNITED STATES IN THE HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 10-221a of the general statutes be amended to include the study of the founding documents, including, but not limited to, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights, in the civics and American Government component of the high school graduation requirements.

Statement of Purpose:

To educate high school students on the historical context and importance of the founding documents of the United States.
