AN ACT CONCERNING JOINT CAMPAIGNING FOR CANDIDATES FOR GOVERNOR AND LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to require (1) candidates for governor and lieutenant governor to seek such candidates' party's nomination jointly as a ticket, and (2) the candidate committee of any such ticket participating in the Citizens' Election Program to receive qualifying contributions from individuals in the aggregate amount of three hundred thousand dollars, including contributions from at least three thousand individuals residing in the state, in order to qualify for a grant from the Citizens' Election Fund.
Statement of Purpose:
To require candidates for governor and lieutenant governor to jointly seek their party's nomination and raise funds to qualify for the Citizens' Election Program.
