AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CAUSE OF ACTION AGAINST A PEACE OFFICER WHO PROHIBITS THE RECORDING OF A PEACE OFFICER ENGAGED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS OR HER DUTIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that a cause of action shall exist against a peace officer who prohibits a member of the public from recording the actions of a peace officer engaged in the performance of his or her duties.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that members of the public have the ability to record the actions of a peace officer engaged in the performance of his or her duties.
