AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL FIRE APPARATUS SAFETY AND TESTING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2016) Each municipal and volunteer fire department shall maintain the pump and aerial components of such department's fire apparatus in compliance with the inspection, maintenance and testing requirements of standard 1911 of the National Fire Protection Association.
Sec. 2. Section 14-19 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2016):
The commissioner shall [, at the request of the chief of any regular or volunteer fire department or the person in charge of any organized civil preparedness auxiliary fire company,] register, without charge, any motor vehicle used as fire apparatus by [such department or company] any regular or volunteer fire department or organized civil preparedness auxiliary fire company, and shall issue a certificate of registration and number plates bearing the words "fire apparatus" therefor.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

In Section 2, "such department or company" was bracketed, and "any regular or volunteer fire department or organized civil preparedness auxiliary fire company," was inserted for accuracy.
