AN ACT DELAYING IMPLEMENTATION OF CERTAIN EDUCATION MANDATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to permit local and regional boards of education to delay the implementation of the provisions of public act 10-111 until such mandates are fully funded by the state, and to amend section 10-221a of the general statutes to permit local and regional boards of education to delay the implementation of the changes to the high school graduation requirements until (1) such changes are fully funded by the state, or (2) for classes graduating in 2024, whichever is sooner.

Statement of Purpose:

To delay the impact of the unfunded mandates contained in the education reform act of 2010.
