AN ACT CONCERNING A COURT'S AUTHORITY TO FIND A DEFENDANT IN CONTEMPT IN A SUMMARY PROCESS ACTION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 832 of the general statutes be amended to provide that, in a summary process action, the court may find a defendant in contempt if the defendant fails to abide by the terms of a court order for payments for use and occupancy of the leased premises.
Statement of Purpose:
To assist landlords by allowing the court to find a defendant in contempt if the defendant fails to abide by a court order for payments for use and occupancy of the leased premises.
