AN ACT CONCERNING REIMBURSEMENT TO MUNICIPALITIES FOR THE COST OF RESPONDING TO EMERGENCIES IN STATE PARKS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 23-15a of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage):
(a) The Commissioner of Environmental Protection shall, within available appropriations, reimburse municipalities for necessary costs incurred when the use of a state park in those municipalities is so great as to impede traffic, limit the movement of emergency vehicles or create a risk of a breach of peace or a threat to public safety.
(b) The Commissioner of Environmental Protection shall, within available appropriations, reimburse a municipality for necessary costs incurred by the municipality when the police department, fire department or ambulance service of such municipality responds to an emergency in a state park.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
