AN ACT CONCERNING NIGHT HUNTING OF COYOTES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2018) (a) Coyote hunting shall be permitted after sunset on privately owned lands where landowners do not object.

(b) The Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection shall amend sections 26-66-1 and 26-66-5 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, in accordance with chapter 54 of the general statutes, to implement the provisions of subsection (a) of this section.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

October 1, 2018

Statement of Purpose:

To authorize the hunting of coyotes at night, similar to raccoon and opossum hunting.
