AN ACT PROVIDING INCENTIVES FOR GAS STATIONS AND GROCERY STORES TO PURCHASE EMERGENCY GENERATORS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide incentives for gas stations and grocery stores to purchase emergency generators, by creating a program offering low interest state loans to such businesses for such purchases and by establishing a ten per cent exemption on the property tax of the generator for the first five years following purchase.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide incentives for certain retailers to purchase emergency generators to keep vital businesses open during a period of loss of power.
