AN ACT CONCERNING SUSPENSION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR PERMITS BY MUNICIPAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective January 1, 2015) (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of title 30 of the general statutes, the chief law enforcement officer in the town in which an alcoholic liquor permit premises is located may, in such chief law enforcement officer's discretion, suspend such permit if such chief law enforcement officer has reasonable cause to believe that the permit premises has been conducted as a disorderly establishment, as evidenced by not less than three documented incidents that have occurred on or adjacent to the permit premises.
(b) If a chief law enforcement officer suspends a permit pursuant to subsection (a) of this section, such chief law enforcement officer shall notify the permittee of such chief law enforcement officer's proposed action and set a day and place for a hearing thereon, giving the permittee reasonable notice in advance thereof. If, at or after such hearing, the chief law enforcement officer suspends the permit, notice of such decision shall forthwith be given to such permittee in such manner as the chief law enforcement officer directs.
(c) The suspension of a permit pursuant to subsection (a) or (b) of this section shall not prevent the Department of Consumer Protection from suspending or revoking any such permit pursuant to the provisions of section 30-55 of the general statutes.
(d) Any person aggrieved by any action of a chief law enforcement officer in suspending a permit pursuant to subsection (a) or (b) of this section may appeal from such action to the Superior Court.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

To allow municipal chief law enforcement officials to suspend alcoholic liquor permits under certain conditions.
