AN ACT CONCERNING THE PRIVATIZATION OF CERTAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17a of the general statutes be amended to transfer all responsibilities related to quality improvement, training, research and outcomes from the Department of Children and Families to private, nonprofit, community-based providers.

Statement of Purpose:

To achieve cost savings and to instill impartiality into the Department of Children and Families' review process by outsourcing certain functions of the Department of Children and Families to nonprofit, community-based providers.
