AN ACT CONCERNING LOCAL PHARMACIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2012) No contract between a pharmacy and a wholesaler of pharmaceutical products entered into or renewed on and after the effective date of this section shall include any provision that would (1) limit, encumber or otherwise restrict the pharmacy from purchasing or receiving pharmaceuticals from any other wholesaler of pharmaceutical products, or (2) restrict the pharmacy from providing pharmaceutical products from any other wholesaler to state employees.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
Section 1	July 1, 2012	New section
