AN ACT PROVIDING FINANCIAL RELIEF TO NURSING HOMES FOR UNCOMPENSATED CARE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17b-320 of the general statutes be amended to allow nursing homes not to pay the resident day user fee in advance of Medicaid eligibility determinations and release of Medicaid funds to pay for the care of Medicaid-eligible residents.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide some financial relief for nursing homes that are paying fees to the state for residents in advance of Medicaid eligibility determinations and release of Medicaid funds to pay for care.
