AN ACT IMPLEMENTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PROGRAM REVIEW AND INVESTIGATIONS COMMITTEE CONCERNING TRANSFERRING ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO THE COMMUNITY-TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Board of Trustees of the Community-Technical Colleges, in consultation with the Commissioners of Education and Higher Education and the superintendent of the regional vocational-technical school system, shall examine the feasibility of transferring the adult education programs currently administered by the regional vocational-technical school system, including, but not limited to, the licensed practical nurse programs, to the Community-Technical College System. Not later than October 1, 2010, the Board of Trustees for the Community-Technical Colleges shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education and higher education regarding the feasibility of transferring the adult education programs, including the cost of such transfer, the number of employees that would be impacted by such transfer and the geographic locations of the regional community-technical colleges where the adult education programs could be offered.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
