AN ACT CONCERNING CAMPAIGN FILINGS BY TOWN COMMITTEE TREASURERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 155 of the general statutes be amended to exempt from penalty any treasurer of a town committee who fails to file any statement required by section 9-608 of the general statutes where such statement would have reported no contribution, expenditure or expense during a reporting period.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage citizen participation in town committees by eliminating penalties for certain nonmalicious omissions.
