AN ACT LIMITING FINANCIAL INSTITUTION FEES FOR RECORDS NEEDED FOR MEDICAID APPLICATIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) A financial institution shall not charge an applicant for medical assistance benefits under Title XIX of the Social Security Act more than twenty dollars for a record of an account from such financial institution that is required by the Commissioner of Social Services to determine the applicant's eligibility for benefits. For purposes of this section, "financial institution" means any trust company, bank, savings bank, credit union, building and loan association, savings and loan association, insurance company, investment company, trustee, executor, pension fund or retirement fund.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
