AN ACT REDUCING CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM GRANTS FOR UNOPPOSED CANDIDATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any candidate participating in the Citizens' Election Program who does not have an opponent shall receive no more than twenty-five per cent of the full grant amount such candidate would receive if such candidate had an opponent.

Statement of Purpose:

To reduce the amount of grants from the Citizens' Election Fund for unopposed candidates.
