AN ACT EXEMPTING SOCIAL SECURITY AND PENSIONS FROM PERSONAL INCOME TAX.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 229 of the general statutes be amended to exempt from the personal income tax all income received from (1) Social Security benefits, (2) pensions received from an in-state employer, and (3) pensions received from an employer in another state, provided such other state also exempts from income tax pensions received from Connecticut employers.

Statement of Purpose:

To eliminate the income tax on pensions and Social Security income.
