AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND AN ANALYSIS OF EXISTING BUSINESS MANDATES AND REGULATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Economic and Community Development conduct a cost benefit analysis of all existing business mandates and regulations and submit a report of its findings to the General Assembly. Within thirty days of submitting said report, the General Assembly shall convene and vote to retain any mandate or regulation that has a cost to business that outweighs the benefits of the mandate or regulation.

Statement of Purpose:

To require the Department of Economic and Community Development to conduct a comprehensive cost benefit analysis of all business mandates and regulations.
