AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF RESTRAINTS ON PREGNANT WOMEN IN CUSTODY DURING THE THIRD TRIMESTER OF PREGNANCY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the use of physical restraints on women in criminal custody who are in their third trimester of pregnancy or in labor.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent any problems with a woman's pregnancy that may arise due to the application of restraints.
