AN ACT CONCERNING THE EXPULSION OF STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF CERTAIN SEXUAL ASSAULT CRIMES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-233d of the general statutes be amended to allow local and regional boards of education or expulsion hearing boards to conduct expulsion proceedings whenever the board of education or expulsion hearing board obtains information that a student has been convicted of a crime involving a violation of section 53a-70, 53a-70a, 53a-72b, 53a-92 or 53a-92a of the general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide boards of education the authority to conduct expulsion hearings for students who have been convicted of certain sexual assault crimes.
