AN ACT CONCERNING FOOD ALLERGY INFORMATION AND RESTAURANTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 368a of the general statutes be amended to require (1) restaurants to post notices containing information about food allergies in the restaurant's kitchen, (2) restaurants to print notices in menus asking customers to inform their server of any food allergies, and (3) the Department of Public Health to develop a program to designate certain restaurants as "food allergy safe" and to provide a list of such restaurants on the department's Internet web site.

Statement of Purpose:

To make restaurants more food-allergy aware and safe.
