AN ACT CONCERNING A CONSUMER EDUCATION CAMPAIGN REGARDING FRUCTOSE LEVELS IN FOOD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2015) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection, in consultation with the Commissioner of Public Health, shall develop a program to educate consumers about levels of fructose in certain food products. Such program shall include, but not be limited to, the dissemination of information to consumers concerning interpretation of information on nutrition labels relating to fructose levels. Not later than January 1, 2016, the Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to general law and public health concerning the status of the program.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

To establish a consumer education program concerning fructose levels in foods to allow consumers to make informed choices regarding their food purchases.
