AN ACT REQUIRING THREE-POINT SEAT SAFETY BELTS FOR SCHOOL BUSES THAT ARE MODEL YEAR 2019 OR NEWER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That (1) subsection (c) of section 14-275 of the general statutes be amended to require each school bus that is model year 2019 or newer to be equipped with three-point lap and shoulder seat safety belts, and (2) the general statutes be amended to require the operator and any passenger of a school bus that is equipped with three-point lap and shoulder seat safety belts to wear such belts while the school bus is being operated.
Statement of Purpose:
To require each school bus that is model year 2019 or newer to be equipped with three-point lap and shoulder seat safety belts and to require passengers of a school bus to wear seat safety belts.
