AN ACT REQUIRING EMPLOYEE CONSENT FOR THE UTILIZATION OF UNION DUES UNRELATED TO THE UNION'S COLLECTIVE BARGAINING FUNCTIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit an employee's union dues from being used for purposes unrelated to the union's collective bargaining functions, including, but not limited to, political contributions and expenditures, without that employee's written consent.

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent unionized workers from being forced to support causes with which they do not agree.
