AN ACT INCREASING THE FINES FOR FAILING TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY TO PEDESTRIANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That sections 14-300 and 14-300d of the general statutes be amended to change the penalty for failing to yield the right of way to pedestrians from an infraction to a violation, with a corresponding increase in the amount of the fine.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase pedestrian safety by increasing the penalty for drivers who fail to yield the right of way to pedestrians.
