AN ACT CONCERNING PERMANENT ABSENTEE BALLOT STATUS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 9-140e of the general statutes be amended to provide that any elector who receives permanent absentee ballot status shall not be required to provide a certification each year from a primary care provider indicating that such elector is permanently physically disabled and unable to appear in person at such elector's designated polling location.
Statement of Purpose:
To clarify that, upon receiving permanent absentee ballot status, an elector shall not be required to confirm annually with a primary care provider's certification that such elector continues to be eligible for such status.
