AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEFINITION AND LICENSURE OF A SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-6r of the general statutes be amended to (1) clarify the definition of a school-based health center as a health center that provides health services to children or adolescents, (2) require the Department of Public Health to adopt regulations to establish the minimum quality standards for school-based health centers, and (3) require the Commissioner of Public Health to issue a school-based health center license to applicants who meet the criteria for such centers set forth in such regulations.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Department of Public Health to adopt regulations regarding school-based health centers and require the Commissioner of Public Health to issue school-based health center licenses in accordance with such regulations.
