AN ACT CONCERNING REINSTATEMENT OF FIREARMS PERMITS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 29 of the general statutes be amended to require that a judge who finds a defendant whose firearms permit was revoked based on an arrest for a criminal violation shall order the immediate reinstatement of such defendant's permit upon a dismissal of charges, a judgment of not guilty or a nolle.

Statement of Purpose:

To permit a person whose firearms permit was wrongfully revoked to have such permit reinstated without having to go through an additional administrative appeals process.
