AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TASK FORCE TO EXAMINE THE CREATION OF A VETERANS TREATMENT PILOT PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

To establish a task force that shall: (1) Study the implementation of a veterans treatment court pilot program; and (2) make recommendations concerning the most effective plan of action for creating such a pilot program, including the establishment of a separate docket for the hearing of criminal matters that are misdemeanors, or felonies that may be reduced to misdemeanors, for discharged members of the United States military residing in Connecticut whose violation of certain criminal statutes may be a result of military service.

Statement of Purpose:

To establish a task force to examine the most effective method for creating a veterans treatment court pilot program that includes, but is not limited to, a separate criminal docket for veterans.
