AN ACT CONCERNING DISPLAY OF MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND EMISSIONS TESTING STICKERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 14 of the general statutes be amended (1) to direct the Department of Motor Vehicles to reinstate the sticker system for emissions testing and registration, and (2) to require the display of emissions testing stickers on the windshield and registration stickers on the license plate of motor vehicles which shall display the expiration date of such emissions and registration.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure that persons are operating motor vehicles which are registered, insured and tested for emissions and to reduce the likelihood that motor vehicle operators will be stopped by police officers without probable cause.
