AN ACT AUTHORIZING SPECIAL TAX OBLIGATIONS BONDS OF THE STATE TO UPGRADE THE DANBURY BRANCH OF METRO NORTH.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the issuance of bonds in accordance with sections 13b-74 to 13b-77, inclusive, of the general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate ____ dollars, the proceeds of which shall be used by the Department of Transportation for the purpose of upgrading the Danbury branch of the Metro North railroad.

Statement of Purpose:

To improve performance and increase the number of trains and passengers on the Danbury branch of the Metro North railroad by upgrading said branch.
