AN ACT CONCERNING POSSESSION OF A WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 53a-217b of the general statutes be amended regarding criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds to clarify that subdivision (2) of subsection (b) of said section permits school officials and a local board of education to establish a protocol that permits school personnel to possess weapons on school grounds.

Statement of Purpose:

To protect elementary and secondary school students by clarifying that existing law permits school officials to establish protocols permitting school personnel to possess weapons on school grounds.
