AN ACT CONCERNING PREVAILING WAGE THRESHOLDS AND INFLATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to immediately increase the threshold amounts for public works projects required to abide by prevailing wage laws to one million dollars for new construction and four hundred thousand dollars for remodeling and to prospectively index the prevailing wage thresholds to the inflation rate.

Statement of Purpose:

To change the prevailing wage thresholds to reflect cost changes experienced by municipalities undertaking public works projects.
