AN ACT INCREASING THE AVAILABILITY OF SPANISH-SPEAKING INTERPRETERS IN STATE COURTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Require the Chief Court Administrator and the Probate Court Administrator to assign additional Spanish-speaking interpreters to the state's civil, family, juvenile and probate courts; and (2) increase various court fees to cover the costs incurred as a result of assigning additional Spanish-speaking interpreters to the state's courts.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the availability of Spanish-speaking interpreters in state courts.
