AN ACT CONCERNING THE PREVENTION OF HEARING LOSS IN YOUNG CHILDREN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services, in consultation with the Commissioners of Education, Rehabilitation and Public Health, to provide information to parents of children enrolled in Head Start and state-financed early education programs on the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss. Such information shall be distributed through Head Start programs and state-financed early education programs.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce the incidence of hearing loss in young children associated with noise.
