AN ACT CONCERNING JOINT CAMPAIGNING AND RAISING OF FUNDS BY CANDIDATES FOR GOVERNOR AND LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to require (1) candidates for governor and lieutenant governor to seek such candidates' party's nomination jointly as a ticket, and (2) that any such candidates participating in the Citizens' Election Program campaigning jointly and as a ticket receive qualifying contributions through one candidate committee in order to qualify for a grant from the Citizens' Election Fund.
Statement of Purpose:
To require candidates for governor and lieutenant governor to jointly seek their party's nomination and jointly raise funds to qualify for the Citizens' Election Program.
