AN ACT EXPANDING THE DEFINITION OF HYDROPOWER AS A CLASS I RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 16 of the general statutes be amended to include all types of hydropower as a Class I renewable energy source.
Statement of Purpose:
To expand the type of hydropower that qualifies as a Class I renewable energy source from current law that includes only certain run-of-the-river hydropower facilities, and to include all hydropower currently defined as a Class II renewable energy source as a Class I renewable energy source.
