AN ACT CONCERNING NOTIFICATION TO CALL BEFORE YOU DIG, INC. PRIOR TO EXCAVATION, DEMOLITION OR DISCHARGE OF EXPLOSIVES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 293 of the general statutes be amended to require any person, public agency or public utility responsible for excavating or discharging explosives at or near the location of public utility facilities or demolishing a structure containing a public utility facility to provide expanded notice of such excavation, discharge or demolition to Call Before You Dig, Inc., or any other central clearinghouse organized and operated by the public utilities of the state for receiving such notice, prior to commencing such excavation, discharge or demolition.

Statement of Purpose:

To expand notification requirements prior to excavation, demolition or discharge of explosives to better protect the public.
