AN ACT CONCERNING QUALIFIED PRIVATE INVESTMENTS FOR CONNECTICUT INNOVATIONS' PRESEED PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to include funds from a public institution of higher education, except those funds derived from state appropriations or student tuition and fees, that are used to assist in the commercialization of technology owned by a public university in the definition of "private investment" necessary for a business to qualify for the preseed program administered by Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated.
Statement of Purpose:
To place public university startup companies on a level playing field with other businesses seeking preseed funding from Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated.
