AN ACT CONCERNING EYE EXAMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 380 of the general statutes be amended to specify that only a licensed physician or licensed optometrist shall administer an eye exam or eye refraction.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure that only proper eye exams that would determine if a person has an eye disease are provided to members of the public and to prevent the administration of eye exams and eye refraction by persons who are not licensed physicians or optometrists for the purpose of providing a prescription for eyeglasses.
