AN ACT CONCERNING THE PRESENTATION OF PHOTO IDENTIFICATION BEFORE THE CLOSURE OF THE POLLS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 9-261 of the general statutes be amended to require voters, who do not produce photo identification, but sign an affidavit attesting to their identity, to provide proper photo identification to election officials before the polls close on election day.

Statement of Purpose:

To safeguard the integrity of the state's voting process.
