AN ACT PROHIBITING THE MANUFACTURE, SALE AND USE OF FISHING TACKLE THAT CONTAINS LEAD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the manufacture, sale and use of fishing tackle that contains lead.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect loons and other diving birds from ingesting toxic lead through fish sources and other marine debris in order to preserve the health of such birds.
