AN ACT REQUIRING CERTAIN RECORD-KEEPING BY ANIMAL SHELTERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that any licensed nonprofit or for profit animal shelter be required to keep records concerning the number of animals taken in by such shelter, the number of animals adopted by such shelter and the number of animals euthanized by such shelter and to further provide that a copy of such records be provided to the Department of Agriculture.

Statement of Purpose:

To require animal shelters to record and report certain information concerning the animals in such shelters.
