AN ACT CONCERNING ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF BUILDINGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) require the evaluation and disclosure of the energy consumption of residential and commercial buildings before a sale or rental, and (2) provide building owners, including, but not limited to, such owners who live in municipal electric utility service areas, with information regarding opportunities to improve building energy efficiency.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide information about the energy efficiency of a building to a potential home buyer or renter, and to provide information to a building owner about opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
