AN ACT CONCERNING SUSPENDING THE PREVAILING WAGE DURING HIGH LEVELS OF UNEMPLOYMENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to suspend the prevailing wage law on any public works projects contracted during a period of high unemployment until the state's unemployment rate falls below recessions levels for a period of not less than six months.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow the state and municipalities to save money on public works projects and put more people to work during periods of high unemployment.
