AN ACT CONCERNING SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND THE SCHOOL BUS SEAT BELT ACCOUNT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 14-275d of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Motor Vehicles and Department of Education to inform local and regional school districts of the program to provide funding to offset a portion of sales tax on the purchases of school buses equipped with seat safety belts and how to apply to such program, and to permit no more than five per cent of the total amount in the school bus seat belt account to be used to pay the costs associated with informing such school districts.
Statement of Purpose:
To inform school districts of the ability to apply for funds from the school bus seat belt account.
