AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF EMINENT DOMAIN TO EFFECTUATE THE TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY FROM ONE PRIVATE REAL PROPERTY OWNER TO ANOTHER PRIVATE REAL PROPERTY OWNER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 130 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the use of eminent domain for the purpose of taking real property from a private real property owner and transferring such real property to another private real property owner.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit the use of eminent domain for the purpose of private development that exclusively involves private real property owners.
