AN ACT CONCERNING DESIGNATION OF ROADS AS "ACCIDENT ZONES".

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require towns to place signs on certain portions of municipal roads, based on the volume of motor vehicle accidents on those portions, and designate them as "accident" or "hot" zones. Traffic violations occurring in such zones will result in fines being doubled, with half of such fine going to the municipality and the other half to the state.

Statement of Purpose:

To protect drivers on dangerous stretches of road.
